Outshine Ltd is a telephone training company with a passion for developing individuals serious about building relationships and securing more business in their market.
The practitioner
Audrey started her career working for a food and drink company taking orders over the telephone. She discovered that with a few well-chosen words, she could up-sell and cross-sell and, in her own words, ‘got a taste for it’.
While selling advertising space for a regional newspaper, she won promotion and improved her team’s performance through coaching individual members. She quickly realised that this was something she loved doing and excelled at.
After the birth of her son and during a crossroads in her life she joined a company as a ‘job club leader’ working with the long term unemployed. Even in this role she recognised the importance of using the phone to secure jobs. Shortly after this she decided to concentrate on building her business around creating opportunities by phone.
The business woman
In 1992 Audrey set up and managed her own telemarketing company alongside her training business and became one of the first in the East Midlands to gain the Investors in People award, a testament to how highly she values the people she works with.
The entrepreneur and pioneer
Audrey has also established other businesses in areas where the ability to communicate effectively by telephone are critical to success. These have included magazine publishing, networking and business coaching. She is about to add the written word to her communication skills with her first book on telephone techniques for success in business.
The trainer
Building on her firm foundations as a practitioner, Audrey is now an accomplished trainer with over 22 years experience. She works both independently and also as a training partner with a small number of large training companies in the UK
The person
Audrey’s ability to improve people’s performance on the telephone is partly due to her experience as a practitioner and partly due to her professionalism as a trainer. It also has much to do with her bubbly personality and infectious style. Her passion for telephone communication and her ability to motivate people to become confident and effective on the telephone sets her apart.
